AUTHENTIC COOKING CLASS

In Guatemala, the kitchen is the heart of the home, a place where generations connect and recipes are passed down through practice. Cooking with grandma is a hands-on experience of watching, tasting, and doing - often preparing slow stews like Chicken Pepián, with hand-pressed corn tortillas, and hibiscus juice from freshly picked flowers. This tradition offers a direct connection to ancestral Mayan flavours, empowers local women, and helps preserve cultural traditions and heritage. We take a 5 minute walk together from your villa to Abuela's house where we make introductions and begin cooking. When everything is ready, you'll sit down and eat together, before taking home any leftovers and the recipes to try making it for yourself!
